Kitchen Collection

Today I have a collection of kitchens for you to be inspired by.  I have heard it said many times that kitchens are the heart of the home. What do you think, dear readers?

As you probably know if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I am a huge sucker for some open shelving. This kitchen does it so well, don’t you think? And even though the kitchen is fairly small the kitchen island works well.

These dark wood cabinets look gorgeous and I love the tiles used for the back splash.  And yet another kitchen island working very well.

There’s so much to love about this kitchen. The dark cabinets, wood flooring, lighting, cookbook storage…

This tiny kitchen is about the same size as mine, and they really make good use of the limited space! Love the bookshelves and neutral wall colour.

Now this kitchen is way bigger than the previous one and has a really traditional look. Beautiful! And can I just mention those lights? Say what?!

Ooh, this one’s a rebel! While most kitchen designs make use of a predominantly white palette, here they opted for a gorgeous dark brown on the walls. What do you think? Would you ever go for a dark wall colour in your kitchen?

And lastly, here’s a piece of advice from the fabulous Abigail Ahern on decorating your kitchen:

“Plonk lights on counters, heap recipe books on surfaces, accessorise with flowers and t-lights, bottles of oils, vinegars and before long you will have built up a layer of fabulousness that totally connects with the rest of the space.”

Thanks! It’s amazing what they did with that tiny kitchen. And I love the checked floors for an apartment kitchen!

When I read Abigail’s advice and I looked at the above kitchens, I saw that it really is true. Like you said, it gives so much personality!
