Book Gems

This week’s Book Gems quote is from the first book in The Declaration series by Gemma Malley. This young adult series is set in a world where a new Longevity drug has brought about a non-aging society. Children are seen as Surplus and are trained as servants.. This series follows the adventures of Anna Covey, a young Surplus. I read the first book in only one day and really enjoyed it! This is one of my favourite quotes from the book.

“I think flowers can be just as important as food, sometimes. I think it depends what you’re hungry for.” – Gemma Malley (The Declaration)
