Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds…

Morning, dear readers. Today I have a brand-new photo/lyrics post for you! Haven’t done of these in a while. Recently I’ve been listening to a lot of Mumford & Sons and therefore the lyrics are from their song, Thistle & Weeds. I’ve been loving their CD, Sigh No More, and this is one of my favourite songs from the album.  The gorgeous black and white photos are from amazingly talented photographer, Anders Rorgren. He has a real eye for taking interesting photos, especially in his street photography.

Thistle & Weeds – Mumford & Sons

Winter tree

Spare me your judgements and spare me your dreams
‘Cause recently mine have been tearing my seams
I sit alone in this winter clarity which clouds my mind

metro shadow

Alone in the wind and the rain you left me
It’s getting dark darling, too dark to see
And I’m on my knees, and your faith in shreds, it seems

hood love

Corrupted by the simple sniff of riches blown
I know you have felt much more love than you’ve shown
And I’m on my knees and the water creeps to my chest

Stacking hay

But plant your hope with good seeds
Don’t cover yourself with thistle and weeds
Rain down, rain down on me

The Metro Girl - Bourse Station

Look over your hills and be still
The sky above us shoots to kill
Rain down, rain down on me

gotcha

But I will hold on
I will hold on hope

Not as bad as you think

I begged you to hear me, there’s more than flesh and bones
Let the dead bury the dead, they will come out in droves
But take the spade from my hands and fill in the holes you’ve made

umbrella shadow

But plant your hope with good seeds
Don’t cover yourself with thistle and weeds
Rain down, rain down on me
