Portraits from the Past

Discovered this photostream on Flickr with portraits from the 1800s to the early 1900s.  The photos are all from the Public Library of Toulouse in France. You can find their website here.

I find these portraits fascinating, trying to imagine what life must have been like in those days.  Isn’t it amazing how people’s eyes can speak volumes, even on photographs?
